My Philosophy & Future Goals
Philosophy
Family Comes First
I am blessed to have a beautiful wife who allows for me to coach basketball for a living. I am also blessed to have four beautiful children, Rayna, Quinn, Aidree, and Millie who have made my life even more special. Family is the single most important thing in my life. No matter how stressful things can get (currently really busy), I have an excellent reason to wake up each morning with a positive mindset, because I truly am blessed!
Keep Things Simple (Mind & Body)
When working with our players, I'll often remind them to keep their goals and expectations simple. In developing a workout plan for yourself or a player, have a few key skill development areas you would like to see improve. Work a series of drills and repeat them until you see the results you are looking for.
Keep Things Real - Honesty is the Best Policy
Nothing drives me more crazy then beating around the bush or sugarcoating certain circumstances. You develop trust in your players by being honest with them on where you see them in your program. The same is true for game to game adjustments. I don't treat these moments as negative feedback for the player, but rather their opportunity to know what it is you are thinking.
Have Fun & Enjoy What I Am Doing
I want to be known for being a “Players Coach.” Be a passionate, energetic, and relaxing figure for these student-athletes. I am extremely competitive, but I’ve learned one of the keys to success is being positive.
